Tales of Charles Perrault

Cinderella is one of the most famous fairy tales all over the world. Based on this fairy tale, a huge number of animated and feature films have been shot. The fairy tale Cinderella is a masterpiece of its genre. A very original story, full of magic, beauty and justice. So many little girls dream of being in the place of Cinderella - after all, the fate of this kind, honest and hardworking girl, although difficult, is nevertheless noble. Poor Cinderella, who was humiliated and exploited by her stepmother and her daughters, at one fine moment, thanks to a kind fairy godmother who, with the help of a magic wand, made her a carriage with footmen, a beautiful dress and crystal shoes, gets to a chic ball, where she charms everyone with her beauty , delicacy and grace. The young prince falls in love with Cinderella. The next day, Cinderella again goes to the ball, but she forgets and barely manages to run out of the castle at the appointed time, shortly before the magic spell subsides (and this happens at 12 o'clock at night). In her haste, she drops one of her glass slippers and disappears in an unknown direction. The prince, stunned and in love, wants to find Cinderella by all means, even if for this he has to measure all the female feet in the whole kingdom in order to find the one that fits this glass shoe. So they found Cinderella - when she tried on a glass slipper, she turned out to be just right for her. And when she took out and put on the second, the same, there was no longer any doubt. The stepmother and her daughters were shocked, and the prince and Cinderella were happy, they got married and lived happily ever after, in love and harmony.

There once lived a rich and noble man. His wife died, and he married a second time to such a heartless proud woman, such as you will not find anymore. She had two daughters who looked like their mother in every way, the same arrogant wicked ones. And my husband had a daughter, extremely meek and affectionate, all in the memory of her late mother, the kindest woman in the world. Cinderella planted a walnut twig on her mother's grave, which grew into a beautiful walnut tree. Cinderella often came to her mother's grave and complained about how hard it was for her.

The stepmother immediately showed her evil disposition. She was annoyed by the kindness of her stepdaughter - next to this sweet girl, her own daughters seemed even more disgusting.

The stepmother charged the girl with all the dirtiest and hardest work in the house: she cleaned the dishes, washed the stairs, and rubbed the floors in the rooms of the capricious stepmother and her spoiled daughters. She slept in the attic, under the very roof, on a thin bedding. And her sisters' bedrooms had hardwood floors, feather beds, and floor-to-ceiling mirrors.

The poor girl endured everything and was afraid to complain to her father - he would only scold her, because he obeyed his new wife in everything. When she had finished her work, the poor thing would hide in a corner near the hearth and sit right on the ashes,

for which the eldest stepmother's daughter nicknamed her Zamarashka. But the younger one, not as rude as her sister, began to call her Cinderella. And Cinderella, even in an old dress, was a hundred times nicer than her discharged sisters.

One day, the son of the king decided to have a ball and called all the noble people in the kingdom to it. The Cinderella sisters were also invited. How delighted they were, how they fussed, choosing their outfits and jewelry! And Cinderella only had more work to do: she had to iron skirts and starch collars for her sisters.

The sisters talked endlessly about how to dress up better.

I, - said the eldest, - will put on a red velvet dress with lace ...

And I, - the youngest interrupted her, I will put on an ordinary dress. But on top I will throw on a cape with gold flowers and diamond clasps. Not everyone has one like this!

They ordered double-frilled bonnets from the best craftswoman and bought the most expensive ribbons. And in everything they asked Cinderella for advice, because she had very good taste. She wholeheartedly tried to help the sisters and even offered to comb their hair. To this they graciously agreed.

While Cinderella was combing their hair, they asked her:

Admit it, Cinderella, would you really like to go to the ball?

Oh sisters, don't laugh at me! Will they let me in?

Yes, it's true! Everyone would roll with laughter if they saw such a mess at the ball.

The other would have deliberately combed them worse for this, but Cinderella, in her kindness, tried to comb them as best as possible.

For two days the sisters did not eat anything for joy and excitement, they tried to tighten their waists and kept turning in front of the mirror.

Finally, the desired day has come. The sisters went to the ball, and the stepmother said before leaving:

So I spilled a bowl of lentils into the ashes. Pick her while we're at the ball.
And she left. Cinderella looked after them for a long time. When their carriage was out of sight, she wept bitterly.

Cinderella's aunt saw that the poor girl was crying and asked why she was so upset.

I wanted ... I would like ... - Cinderella could not finish her tears from tears.

But aunty guessed it herself (she was a sorceress, after all):

You would like to go to the ball, right?

Oh yes! Cinderella answered with a sigh.

Do you promise to be obedient in everything? - asked the sorceress. - Then I'll help you go to the ball. - The sorceress hugged Cinderella and told her: - Go to the garden and bring me a pumpkin.

Cinderella ran to the garden, chose the best pumpkin and took it to the sorceress, although she could not understand how the pumpkin would help her get to the ball.

The sorceress hollowed out the pumpkin to the very crust, then touched it with a magic wand, and the pumpkin instantly turned into a gilded carriage.

Then the sorceress looked into the mousetrap and saw that six live mice were sitting there.

She told Cinderella to open the door of the mousetrap. Each mouse that jumped out of there, she touched with a magic wand, and the mouse immediately turned into a beautiful horse.

And now, instead of six mice, an excellent team of six mouse-colored horses in apples appeared.

The sorceress thought:

Where would you get a coachman?

I’ll go and see if a rat got into the rat trap, said Cinderella. - You can make a coachman out of a rat.

Right! the sorceress agreed. - Go have a look.

Cinderella brought a rat trap where three big rats were sitting.

The sorceress chose one, the largest and mustachioed, touched it with her wand, and the rat turned into a fat coachman with a magnificent mustache.

Then the sorceress said to Cinderella:

In the garden, behind a watering can, six lizards are sitting. Go bring them to me.

Before Cinderella brought the lizards, the sorceress turned them into six servants dressed in liveries embroidered with gold. They so deftly jumped on the back of the carriage, as if they had never done anything else all their lives.

Well, now you can go to the ball, - said the sorceress to Cinderella. - Are you satisfied?

I was given the task to choose a bowl of lentils from the ashes, how can I go to the ball?

The sorceress waved her magic wand. And two white doves flew to the kitchen window, followed by a turtledove, and finally all the birds in the sky flew and fled and landed on the ashes. The doves tilted their heads and began to peck: tuk-tuk-tuk-tuk, and after them the rest too.

“Well, are you ready to go to the ball now?”

Certainly! But how am I going to go in such a nasty dress?

The sorceress touched Cinderella with her wand, and the old dress instantly turned into an outfit of gold and silver brocade, richly embroidered with precious stones.

In addition, the sorceress gave her a pair of glass slippers. The world has never seen such beautiful shoes!

Lushly dressed, Cinderella got into the carriage. At parting, the sorceress strictly ordered her to return before the clock strikes midnight.

If you stay even a minute longer, she said, your carriage will again become a pumpkin, horses will turn into mice, servants into lizards, and a magnificent outfit into an old dress.

Cinderella promised the sorceress to leave the palace before midnight and, beaming with happiness, went to the ball.

The king's son was informed that an unknown, very important princess had arrived. He hurried to meet her, helped her out of the carriage and led her into the hall, where the guests had already gathered.

Silence immediately fell in the hall: the guests stopped dancing, the violinists stopped playing - everyone was so amazed by the beauty of the unfamiliar princess.

- What a beautiful girl! whispered around.

Even the old king himself could not get enough of her and kept repeating in the ear of the queen that he had not seen such a beautiful and sweet girl for a long time.

And the ladies carefully examined her outfit, so that tomorrow they could order exactly the same for themselves, only they were afraid that they would not find enough rich fabrics and enough skillful craftswomen.

The prince took her to the place of honor and invited her to dance. She danced so well that everyone admired her even more.

Soon various sweets and fruits were served. But the prince did not touch the delicacies - he was so busy with the beautiful princess.

And she went up to her sisters, spoke kindly to them and shared the oranges that the prince treated her to.

The sisters were very surprised at such courtesy from the unfamiliar princess.

In the midst of the conversation, Cinderella suddenly heard that the clock had struck three quarters past eleven. She quickly said goodbye to everyone and hurried to leave.

Returning home, she first of all ran to the good sorceress, thanked her and said that she would like to go to the ball again tomorrow - the prince very much asked her to come.

While she was telling the sorceress about everything that happened at the ball, there was a knock on the door - it was the sisters who arrived. Cinderella went to open the door for them.

How long have you been at the ball! she said, rubbing her eyes and stretching as if she had just woken up.

In fact, ever since they parted, she hadn't felt sleepy at all.

If you were at the ball, - said one of the sisters, - you would have no time to be bored. The princess came there - but what a beautiful one! There is no one more beautiful than her in the world. She was very kind to us, treated us to oranges.

Cinderella trembled with joy. She asked the name of the princess, but the sisters replied that no one knew her and the prince was very upset by this. He'd give anything to know who she was.

She must be very pretty! - Cinderella said smiling. - And you are lucky! How I would like to have a glimpse of her!.. Dear sister, please lend me your yellow house dress.

Here's another idea! replied the elder sister. - So I gave my dress to such a mess? For nothing in the world!

Cinderella knew that her sister would refuse her, and was even delighted - what would she do if her sister agreed to give her her dress!

The next day the Cinderella sisters went to the ball again. Cinderella went too and was even more elegant than the first time. The prince did not leave her side and whispered pleasantries to her.

Cinderella had a lot of fun, and she completely forgot about what the sorceress ordered her to do. She thought that it was not yet eleven o'clock, when suddenly the clock began to strike midnight. She jumped up and flew away like a bird. The prince rushed after her, but could not catch up with her.

In a hurry, Cinderella lost one of her glass slippers.

The prince lifted her carefully.

He asked the guard at the gate if anyone had seen where the princess had gone. The guards replied that they only saw a poorly dressed girl run out of the palace, looking more like a peasant woman than a princess.

Cinderella ran home out of breath, without a carriage, without servants, in her old dress. Of all the luxury, she had only one glass slipper left.

When the sisters returned from the ball, Cinderella asked them if they had as much fun as yesterday, and if the beautiful princess came again.

The sisters replied that she had come, but only when the clock began to strike midnight, she rushed to run - so hastily that she dropped a beautiful glass slipper from her foot. The prince picked up the shoe and did not take his eyes off her until the end of the ball. Everything shows that he is in love with a beautiful princess - the owner of the shoe.

The sisters told the truth: a few days passed - and the prince announced throughout the kingdom that he would marry a girl who would hit a glass slipper on her foot.

First, the shoe was tried on for princesses, then for duchesses, then for all court ladies in a row. But she was no good for anyone.

They brought a glass slipper to the Cinderella sisters. They struggled to squeeze their foot into a tiny shoe, but they did not succeed.

Cinderella saw how they were trying, recognized her shoe and asked with a smile:

Can I try on a shoe too?

The sisters only laughed at her in response.

But the courtier who came with the slipper carefully looked at Cinderella. He saw how beautiful she was and said that he was ordered to try on the shoe for all the girls in the kingdom. He seated Cinderella in a chair and barely brought the shoe to her leg, as she put on quite freely.

The sisters were very surprised. But what was their amazement when Cinderella took out a second shoe of the same kind from her pocket and put it on her other foot!

Then a kind sorceress arrived in time, touched her old Cinderella dress with her wand, and in front of everyone it turned into a magnificent outfit, even more luxurious than before.

That's when the sisters saw who the beautiful princess was who came to the ball! They rushed to their knees before Cinderella and began to ask for forgiveness for treating her so badly.

Cinderella raised the sisters, kissed them and said that she forgives them and only asks that they always love her.

Then Cinderella in her luxurious outfit was taken to the palace to the prince.

She seemed to him even more beautiful than before. And a few days later he married her.

Cinderella was as kind in soul as she was beautiful in face. She took the sisters to her palace and on the same day married them to two court nobles.

A rich man's wife dies. Before her death, she punishes her daughter to be modest and kind,

and the Lord will always help you, and I will look at you from heaven and will always be near you.

The daughter goes to her mother's grave every day and cries, and fulfills her mother's order. Winter comes, then spring, and the rich man marries another. The stepmother has two daughters - beautiful, but evil. They take beautiful dresses from the daughter of a rich man and drive her out to live in the kitchen. In addition, the girl now performs the most black and hard work from morning to evening, and sleeps in ashes, which is why she is called Cinderella. The stepsisters mock Cinderella, for example, by pouring peas and lentils into the ashes. The father goes to the fair and asks what to bring to his daughter and stepdaughters. The stepdaughters ask for expensive dresses and precious stones, and Cinderella asks for a branch, which on the way back will be the first to catch him by the hat. Cinderella plants the brought hazel branch on her mother's grave and waters it with tears. A beautiful tree grows.

Cinderella came to the tree three times a day, wept and prayed; and every time a white bird flew up to the tree. And when Cinderella expressed some desire to her, the bird threw her what she asked for.

The king arranges a three-day feast, to which he invites all the beautiful girls of the country so that his son can choose his bride. The stepsisters go to the feast, and Cinderella's stepmother declares that she accidentally spilled a bowl of lentils into the ashes, and Cinderella will be able to go to the ball only if she chooses her two hours in advance. Cinderella calls:

You, tame doves, you, turtledoves, birds of the sky, quickly fly to me, help me choose lentils! Better - in a pot, worse - in a goiter.

They complete the task in less than an hour. Then the stepmother "accidentally" wakes up two bowls of lentils and reduces the time to an hour. Cinderella again calls the doves and doves, and they manage in half an hour. The stepmother declares that Cinderella has nothing to wear, and she does not know how to dance, and leaves with her daughters without taking Cinderella. She comes to a walnut tree and asks:

You swing, shake off, little tree, you dress me in gold and silver.

The tree sheds luxurious clothes. Cinderella comes to the ball. The prince dances all evening only with her. Then Cinderella runs away from him and climbs the dovecote. The prince tells the king what happened.

The old man thought: "Isn't this Cinderella?" He ordered to bring an ax and a hook to destroy the dovecote, but there was no one in it.

On the second day, Cinderella again asks the tree for clothes (in the same words), and everything is repeated as on the first day, only Cinderella does not run away to the dovecote, but climbs the pear tree.

On the third day, Cinderella again asks the tree for clothes and dances at the ball with the prince, but when she runs away, her shoe made of pure gold sticks to the tar-smeared stairs (prince's trick). The prince comes to Cinderella's father and says that he will only marry the one on whose foot this golden shoe falls.

One of the sisters cuts off her finger to put on a shoe. The prince takes her with him, but two white doves in a walnut tree sing that her slipper is covered in blood. The prince turns the horse back. The same is repeated with the other sister, only she does not cut off the toe, but the heel. Only Cinderella's slipper fits. The prince recognizes the girl and declares him his bride. When the prince and Cinderella pass by the cemetery, the doves fly down from the tree and land on Cinderella's shoulders - one on the left, the other on the right, and remain seated.

And when the time came to celebrate the wedding, the treacherous sisters also appeared - they wanted to seduce her and share her happiness with her. And when the wedding procession went to the church, the eldest was on the right hand of the bride, and the youngest on the left; and the pigeons pecked out each of their eyes. And then, when they were returning back from the church, the eldest walked on the left hand, and the youngest on the right; and the pigeons pecked out another eye from each of them. So they were punished for their malice and deceit for the rest of their lives with blindness.

Cinderella is an instructive tale about the kind, beautiful Cinderella, who, despite the intrigues of the evil stepmother and sisters, ended up at the royal ball, won the heart of the prince and became his wife.

The new wife of a respectable man took a dislike to his kind and beautiful daughter. The stepmother kept the girl's father under his heel, so Cinderella, for whom there was no one to intercede, was with the evil woman and her two daughters as a servant, and spent all her free time on a box of ashes. When the king gave a ball, the dressed-up sisters went to the palace. Cinderella helped them get ready, and after leaving she burst into tears. A fairy godmother appeared, who turned a pumpkin into a carriage, mice into horses, a rat into a coachman, lizards into footmen, and Cinderella's old dress into a luxurious outfit, and also gave her crystal shoes, however, she took a promise that the girl would return until midnight. Cinderella became the queen of the ball, but she did not forget about the sisters - she talked to them and treated them to fruits (they did not recognize the messy sister in the beauty). The prince fell in love with a beautiful stranger. At 23:45 Cinderella ran away and, sleepy, met her sisters.

The next day, everyone appeared in the palace in the same way. While running away, Cinderella lost her shoe. The prince has been looking for the owner of elegant shoes for a long time. The shoe fit only Cinderella, who drew the attention of the court cavalier. She forgave her sisters for all wrongs and married the prince.

Cinderella is a fairy tale imbued with magic and belief in miracles. This princess has been a role model for many generations. So that you can plunge into this wonderful work at any time, the Wise Litrecon prepared a brief retelling, where he outlined the main events that make up the plot.

(681 words) Old times. On the territory of a certain kingdom, a happy family lives in a beautiful house - parents and a little daughter. However, one autumn day, the family idyll is overshadowed by tragedy - the mother dies.

Such grief brought a lot of suffering to the little child and his father, they experienced it together, supporting each other. After a while, the parent decided that he still had a chance to arrange his life, and he married a second time. His chosen one was a woman who experienced a similar situation - a widow with two daughters.

She came to this house with her orders. Relations with Cinderella did not work out right away, or rather, they did not even begin. The stern stepmother did not see her stepdaughter as an adopted daughter, in her eyes she was a servant who, day after day, must do all the housework and constantly be in the background. Due to overwork, a stately girl in the shortest possible time turned into a slut, hence her nickname - Cinderella. Despite the soiled clothes and body, the heroine still had luxurious external data, which could not but anger her free sisters and stepmother. Before her father's eyes, she withered every day, but he was unable to go against the will of his new wife. He soon passed away, leaving poor Cinderella alone in the family den. The stepmother made her a recluse, forbade her to go out into the world and communicate with anyone. All that beauty could do was clean, wash, cook.

Meanwhile, in the kingdom, like a bolt from the blue, the news of the upcoming ball appeared. According to the king's idea, at this reception, his heir - the prince - was supposed to meet his love. After this news, the stepmother immediately began preparations for the event, in the hope that one of her daughters would be able to get the heart of the heir to the throne. Since all the inhabitants of the kingdom were invited to the ball, Cinderella also had the right to be present there. Of course, her stepmother could not allow this, so she set a condition for the girl: if she had time to sort out millet and poppy seeds, she would go to the ball.

Having lost all hope, Cinderella stayed at home and, in tears, carried out the instructions of her stepmother. The world seemed unfairly cruel to her, but it wasn't at all like that. The gift of fate for the poor girl was her Fairy Godmother. The stunned Cinderella did not immediately understand what was happening, meanwhile, the sorceress magically performed all the housework. She believed that the goddaughter must definitely take part in the ball and gave her such an opportunity. I had to conjure the attributes necessary for the ball from everything that was at hand. So, a pumpkin became a carriage, mice became horses, and a rat became a coachman. The fairy also had to attach her magic wand to the appearance of Cinderella. One stroke, and the girl was wearing a snow-white dress of incredible beauty. Glass shoes were the finishing touch to her look. Unfortunately, the magic is not eternal, its action will stop as soon as the clock strikes twelve. The fairy godmother warned Cinderella about this so that she had time to leave the ball and get home.

When Cinderella appeared in the palace, all the guests were speechless, she was so beautiful. The prince fell in love with her as soon as he saw her. For the rest of the evening, his gaze was riveted only to the charming guest - they danced, talked, walked, dissolving into each other. As they say, happy hours are not observed, so Cinderella did not notice how the time approached midnight. And, on the instructions of the Fairy Godmother, she ran away from the ball as fast as she could. The prince, who did not expect such a development of events, did not even have time to ask her name. It was not possible to catch up with the girl, but along the way she dropped her glass slipper. Cinderella deeply sunk into the heart of the heir to the throne, for the sake of meeting her he was ready to move mountains. His main task was to find a fugitive, so the search began throughout the kingdom. It was announced that whoever fits the glass slipper would become the prince's wife.

Each girl had hope for a quick wedding, but, alas, not a single lady's foot fit into a glass shoe. Finally, the prince and his retinue reached Cinderella's house. Her half-sisters tried in every possible way to put on a slipper, they really wanted to marry a crowned lady, but everything was in vain. The prince was about to leave this house with a lost hope, but suddenly the main character appeared. The shoe sat perfectly on her foot, and Cinderella took out a second shoe from the fireplace. The heir to the throne was in seventh heaven, he found the very one.

The prince and Cinderella played a luxurious wedding, the girl's family moved to the palace, and the sisters married the nobles.
